AI coaching is an estimate. Review the transcript first; errors can change the feedback and score.
Recognition can omit fillers, mishear accents or miss speech. Correct the text, including any ums and ahs you hear. This is a practice estimate, not an assessment of confidence or ability.
Your practice, explained.
Your recording & privacy
With AI consent, your recording is uploaded to this site’s server and sent to OpenAI for transcription. Your topic, transcript and timing metrics are sent for coaching. This application does not keep recordings or transcripts in a database. On shared hosting, PHP temporarily buffers audio uploads on the server and removes the temporary file after processing. Usage counters are stored separately without recording or transcript content. OpenAI and your hosting provider may retain data or logs under their own policies. AI text requests use store:false; this does not promise zero provider retention. Without AI consent, recording and basic metrics stay in this tab. Avoid private or client information. Delete this session or close the tab to clear local data; this does not erase provider-side retention or downloaded files. Cancelling a request cannot recall data already sent.
Browser support & permissions
Open over HTTPS (or localhost). Microphone recording needs getUserMedia and MediaRecorder support plus your permission. AI transcription processes the completed recording using this site’s server and requires internet and a configured AI account. It does not rely on browser speech recognition. If AI is unavailable, you can still record and type a transcript after listening. Use a current Chrome, Edge or Safari and check actual support on your device. If permission is denied, allow microphone access in site settings. In an embedded page, the parent must allow microphone access.
What the score can tell you
The overall coaching score weights clarity 30%, ideas and examples 25%, structure 20%, and pacing 25%. AI evaluates the first three from transcript text with quoted evidence. It does not fact-check your claims or hear tone. Pacing is calculated from transcript words divided by the entire take’s duration, including silence: 100 within this exercise’s 110–160 WPM range, decreasing 1.4 points for each WPM outside it (minimum zero). This range is a coaching choice, not a universal standard. The overall score is rounded to a whole number. Scores are subjective coaching estimates and may vary between AI requests. A score needs at least 10 seconds, 10 words and sufficient meaningful content. Quiet gaps and possible fillers are shown separately and do not automatically reduce the score. Recognition may omit fillers; “so” may be meaningful. No actual confidence, camera presence, body language, vocal emotion or personal ability is assessed.
